IFAF is committed to the principles of transparency, accountability, and democratic representation in line with international good governance standards.
In accordance with these principles, a clear majority of the IFAF Board is elected by the membership at Congress. This ensures that the governance of the federation reflects the collective voice of its members and upholds a fair, inclusive, and representative decision-making process.
Through this structure, IFAF reinforces its dedication to integrity, member engagement, and the highest standards of international sports governance.
IFAF is committed to upholding Key Election Principles and Recommendations in alignment with IOC Good Governance standards.
Elections are conducted under independent supervision by a qualified body operating within the IFAF Integrity Unit, ensuring that nomination, campaigning, and voting processes are fair, transparent, and compliant with established rules. In addition, all candidates are subject to independent integrity and due diligence checks prior to election or appointment, safeguarding the federation’s ethical standards.
To further promote accountability and renewal in leadership, IFAF enforces term limits for Board members, including the President, with a maximum of three terms of four years in office.
