During the buildup to the 2025 IFAF Americans Flag Football Championships, IFAF has posed three questions to the head coaches of the men’s and women’s teams about to compete for continental glory.
Juan Manuel Sesto is the head coach of the Argentina women’s team, who are participating in IFAF continental competition for the first time. He is the Jabalíes' Head for bott the men and women in the Argentinian National league and is the defensive coordinator of the Halcones, the Argentine men's national team)
Sest has IFAF tournament experience at the Continental Championships in 2023 in Charlotte and the World Championships in 2024 in Finland.
How significant is it that Argentina has entered a women’s team at the continentals? It is an important milestone for flag football in Argentina to have a women’s national team for the first time. We believe this represents another step forward in continuing to recognize and support female athletes in our country.
What will be the strengths of your team, and which players should we watch for? The strength of this team will lie in its willingness to learn the pace of the international game and in striving to absorb knowledge throughout the entire Panama 2025 process. We also have a few young players who will pave the way for the future of the upcoming international events
What do you think of the group you have been drawn into (Argentina will face champions of The World Games Mexico, bronze medalists Canada and Guatemala)?
It is an honor and a privilege to compete against two of the best national teams of this sport. It is a valuable opportunity to learn from the very best, and we look forward to those matches with great anticipation.
