IFAF Mourns The Passing of Ian Humes

IFAF is saddened to learn of the passing of friend, colleague and photographer Ian Humes.

Ian first worked with IFAF in 2023, providing some of the iconic images from the IFAF European continental flag football championships in Limerick. He truly captured the atmosphere of the tournament, the personalities of the players and the excitement of the crowd through his lens.

Ian was a popular member of our photography team at the 2024 IFAF Flag Football World Championships in Lahti, Finland, and his work again captured the mood of the competition.

Ian devoted his talents to local sports clubs in his home city of Belfast, including the Shamrock Bowl champion Belfast Trojans, often providing his services free of charge for the love of sport.

Ian’s legacy will live on through his photography and the memory of his friendship and easy-going sense of humour. Everyone at IFAF sends our condolences to Ian’s wife Hazel.

Rest in Peace, Ian.
