Earlier this month, the Federación Española de Fútbol Americano (FEFA) informed IFAF that Spain’s women’s national flag football team is unable to attend The World Games in China in 2025. IFAF extended an invitation to attend to Italy, as the next-placed team at the 2024 IFAF Flag Football World Championships, which the Federazione Italiana di Amercan Football (FIDAF) accepted. “We are really excited about The World Games and look forward to eight women’s flag football national teams competing in Chengdu, China, from August 14 to 17,” said IFAF Managing Director Andy Fuller. Reigning champions Mexico will be joined by world champions the United States, Japan, Austria, Canada, Great Britain, Italy and hosts China in Chengdu.
