The Central American nations of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua have established a 4 Nations Tournament aimed at developing men’s tackle football and flag football for men and women in the region.

Between April and September of this year, each federation hosted a phase of the tournament, which was so successful that plans are in place to play a second edition in February of 2025.

Nicaragua hosted a flag football tournament from April 27 to 28, followed by flag football and tackle events in Guatemala from June 6 to 9. El Salvador welcomed all nations from August 3 to 4 for a flag football competition before the tournament concluded in Honduras from September 6 to 8 where both disciplines were played.

A round robin format in each host country meant that 12 games were played in total at each tournament as Guatemala triumphed overall in the men’s and women’s flag football competitions, while Nicaragua were the tackle football champions.
