Five unbeaten teams are among the nations heading into Sunday’s final group games and knockout stages at the 2024 IFAF European Junior Flag Football Championships in Serbia.
The Kovilovo Resort in the Serbian capital Belgrade has seen national teams from across the continent competing in the U17 boys, U17 girls and U15 mixed categories.

Italy boasts a 4-0 record in Group A in the U17 boys tournament having beaten Austria (3-1), Germany (2-2), Serbia (1-3) and Switzerland (0-4), and will face Great Britain (3-1), whose only defeat in Group B came against Israel. The Israelis (4-0) triumphed over Czechia (2-2), Spain (2-2) and Finland (0-4) for the right to take on Austria in the other semifinal.
Those games will be played at 10.45am local time on Sunday, with the winners contesting the gold medal game at 2.30pm, while the losers play at the same time for bronze.
Great Britain (5-0) and Italy (2-2) will also meet in the semifinals of the U15 mixed competition at 9.30am, while Germany (4-0) and Austria (4-1) play in the other final four game at the same time. The winners meet for the gold medal at 1.15pm and the losers for bronze at the same time.
GB beat Austria, Serbia (3-2), Ukraine (2-3), Czechia (1-4) and Switzerland (0-5) to convincingly top Group A with a perfect record. Italy (2-2) beat Slovakia (2-2) and Finland (0-4) to advance to the knockout stages, winning a three-way tiebreaker with Spain also posting a 2-2 record. Germany topped Group B having beaten all opponents.
The girls U17 tournament group stages conclude with Sunday’s opening games at 9.30am and there is plenty still to play for. Spain (5-0), Finland (5-1) and Czechia (4-1) could all claim the top seed heading into the playoffs, while Austria (2-3) and Italy (2-3) meet in a winner takes all match to decide the fourth semifinals berth.
Those semis will be played at 12pm and the gold and bronze medal games at 3.45pm to bring the curtain down on the continental championships.
