The women’s competition at the 2024 IFAF Flag Football World Championships has reached the quarterfinal stages at the Pajulahti Olympic Centre in Lahti, Finland.

At 8am on Thursday, hosts Finland take on the might of the United States who aim to threepeat as world champions. Three other games in that timeslot feature a clash between two teams ranked in the top ten in the world Panama and Canada, European bronze medalists Germany against Italy, and Austria, who take on Brazil.

At 9.15am, second seed Mexico, featuring NFL Flag Global Ambassador Diana Flores, meet Israel, while European champions Great Britain are paired with Switzerland. There is a repeat of last summer’s Asia-Oceania championship game when gold medalists Japan take on Australia. France and Spain complete the Round of 16 line up.

In a packed day of knockout action, the women’s quarterfinals will be played at 2.15pm and the semifinals at 6pm and 7.15pm.

On Wednesday, USA, Mexico, Germany, Great Britain and Austria topped their respective groups having all gone undefeated. The top three teams in each group and the best fourth place finisher Finland advanced to the knockout stages.
