South America will celebrate its first Flag Football Regional Tournament on December 3rd and 4th . The tournament will feature male and female national teams from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Uruguay. IFAF America Director Javier L’Episcopo said: “This is the first step in the evolution of Flag Football competitions in the South America region, and as IFAF Americas we are thrilled to be able to observe the development of this milestone for flag football” “This weekend will be an essential touchdown for the development of our sport” said IFAF President Pierre Trouchet Trochet continued: it is "an essential step in preparation for the next Continental Championship of America that will take place in 2023 and before the 2024 World Championship in Finland” The event will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with the support of Mayor Francisco Nakano, from Prefeitura Municipal de Itapecerica da Serra, Sports Secretary Geraldo Pedroso and Hotel Terras Altas. IFAF America has 17 active members.
