East Africa Bowl
7 September 2022
The second edition of the East Africa Bowl - the rivalry game featuring the national teams of Kenya and Uganda, took place at the weekend.
First held in Eldoret, Kenya, in 2019 this fixture provided a real see-saw game for the spectators and players alike.
The first half was all Kenya. Two touchdowns saw Quarterback Cyrill Ehete connect with Moses Waweru and Ramah Nanjove respectively before Ehete himself got on the scoresheet with a Rushing touchdown.
Just as Kenya dominated the first half, Uganda rose to the challenge in the second matching Kenya's 18 points. The game would have ended in a tie had it not been for a final flourish from Kenya's Malcolm whose touchdown saw Kenya edge to a 24-18 victory.
A return fixture is scheduled for Uganda in November.
