On Wednesday 30 March members of the IFAF Athlete Committee met with Karen Dolphin, IOC Athletes Commission Manager, to discuss ways in which IFAF can strengthen the athlete voice in the work of the federation. Estie Shai (ISR) and Diana Flores (MEX) laid out some of the Committee's plan for activity over the coming 12 months and the framework for Committee elections at the 2022 IFAF World Championship (W-Tackle) in Finland; the 2023 IFAF World Championship (M-Tackle) in Germany, and the 2024 IFAF U20 World Championship (M-Tackle). A key focus for the Committee will be in utilising resources provided by the IOC's Athlete365 programme and ensuring that IFAF builds strong communication routes with players across the world. 'It was a great opportunity to share best practice' said Estie. 'There are a wealth of resources which IFAF can use to support our players around the world. We look forward to capacity-building the Committee in the coming months and serving our membership.'
