IFAF European Under-19 Championship
The International Federation of American Football and the American Football Bund Österreich are pleased to announce that the 2022 European Under-19 Championship (M-Tackle) will be held in Vienna at the famous "American Football Zentrum Ravelin" in Vienna's 11th district. As well as host nation Austria, a four-time and the current European Champion, the Championship will feature the 2017 champions Sweden, two-time champions France, and Denmark who are seeking their first crown. IFAF Director of Competition Roope Noronen welcomed the announcement: 'Austria will provide a world class stage for the European Championship games. We will see some incredible action on the field, demonstrating the continued strength of the game in Europe.' The tournament takes the format of a semi final and final. On July 7 Austria will face Denmark while Sweden take on France. The winners will face each other on July 10 for the European title whilst at stake for the other two teams is a game to avoid relegation to the second tier of nations when they'll be replaced by one of Finland, Spain, Italy or Great Britain who will be contesting the Group B Championship. Group C will feature multiple European Champions Germany, Czechia and Switzerland, each hoping to begin the climb to the top tier. Details on the Group B and Group C fixtures will be announced shortly. All games from the European Championship in Austria will be streamed live by the hosts in Austria and IFAF and its affiliates globally.
