EYFFC2021-2

There is seemingly no stopping the male Italy U15 and Czechia U17 teams as they maintain their command of the standings. The female Slovenia U15 team is still in the top slot as is the Italy U17 team which won the second game against Austria and is now only one game away from realising their European dream.
Here’s how today's action unfolded.
Under cloudier and cooler skies in Grosseto, Tuscany’s the second day of the European Youth Flag Football Championships showed how well the teams have settled with their competitive spirit on the field really tangible now as everyone eyed a place in the playoffs.
Italy and Czechia struck again with victory in the male U15 and U17 categories respectively. The Italian U15 team is holding firm and provided another great show by coming back to beat a tenacious Austria by just
two points. The Czechia U17 team has a different approach as they ‘steamroller’ their way through the tournament. Well-equipped both physically and technically, the Czech players first smashed Slovakia 68-0 in the opening game this morning, before going on to win a hard-fought battle against Ukraine 38-28, confirming that they are the team to beat in this category.
Slovenia recorded a win and a loss to head up the female U15 standings. The young Slovenian players came to Italy with a pared-down roster, but are proving to be the real surprise at these championships and a tough nut for all the other teams to crack. This morning they proved too strong for the Austrians and triumphed 26-13, only later to be defeated by Italy (33-25), which is right behind them in the rankings.
