Prominent IFAF Athletes Star in Super Bowl Commercial

IFAF is counting down to 2026 by highlighting some of the memorable moments in international American football from the past twelve months.

Back in February, several established international athletes and Flag Football Global Ambassadors whose performances have illuminated and inspired the flag football world starred in a commercial calling to make girls flag football a varsity sport in all 50 states.

With a nod to classic Americana films, the ad kicks off in a 1980s high school filled with big hair, varsity jackets, and quirky characters. Girls’ high school flag football star Ki'Lolo Westerlund plays the "new girl," while NFL legend Pat McAfee, as the principal, announces the sport's varsity status. The school is then catapulted into the present, showing the fast-paced, high-energy nature of today’s girls' flag football.

Appearing alongside NFL stars Justin Jefferson, Myles Garrett, and Marshawn Lynch were United States quarterback Vanita Krouch and wide receiver Ashlea Klam, Gabi Bankhardt of the Brazilian national team, France defensive back Elisa de Santis, Australia’s Kodie Fuller, Germany quarterback Mona Stevens and Mexico wide receiver Tania Rincon.
