During the buildup to the 2025 Euro Flag 2025, IFAF has posed three questions to the head coaches of the men’s and women’s teams ranked in the Top Six in the world, who are about to compete for continental glory.

Great Britain women’s head coach Jack Reed served as offensive coordinator at the most recent continental championships as the team won the European crown, and the 2024 IFAF World Championships.

Reed is no stranger to the IFAF community having served as IFAF Development Manager and USA Football’s Manager of International Programs between 2007 and 2013. His flag football successes range from founding a youth league in his native Leominster, Massachusetts, and guiding teams to multiple regional, national and NFL Flag championships, to coaching Panama’s women to a bronze medal at The World Games in 2022.

What are the goals for your team in this tournament?

Our goals are to compete on every play and perform at our best as consistently as possible.

What will be the strengths of your team and what did you learn about your team at The World Games?

The strength of our team right now is the culture we’re building and the embodiment of the values that drive that culture. We learned a lot about our new offense and new defense from X’s and O’s and personnel standpoints, but most importantly we learned that this team isn’t satisfied with fifth place in the world and won’t be satisfied with anything less than gold in Paris. In order to accomplish that, we need to execute more consistently.

What do you think of the group you have been drawn into?

Group B includes three teams (Ukraine, Finland and Czechia) that we played at the 2023 Euros in Limerick, so there is some familiarity with them, although a lot has changed over the past two years. Türkiye is making their Euros debut, but they seem to be well organized and working hard. I’m excited to play all of them in Paris, starting with Ukraine on Thursday morning.
