The day to day management of the Federation is led by the IFAF Secretariat – headed by the Managing Director.

IFAF’s Secretariat team, working together with The Executive Board, Committees and contractors, aims to deliver an effective and professional organisation for the benefit of global football development.

The Managing Director is an ex-officio member of all IFAF’s Committees and working with the Board, leads on the implementation of the Strategic Plan.

Biography:
Andy Fuller became IFAF Managing Director in February 2015. During his tenure he has worked closely with a number of presidents on the strengthening of the federation and the development of the game worldwide culminating in Full IOC Recognition and the successful inclusion of flag football on the programme of the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028.

Andy is a former Director of the British American Football Association and employee of the National Football League. Andy graduated from the world-renowned Loughborough University in the United Kingdom.

Lars Carlsen
Lars Carlsen
IFAF Sport Manager
Biography:
Lars Carlsen assumed the role of Sport Manager for IFAF on January 1, 2025. In this capacity, he leads the delivery of IFAF's competitions portfolio, oversees the management of the football programme at The World Games, and is a key figure in the preparations for flag football's Olympic debut at LA28. Lars also leads on the planning and delivery of education and training clinics in partnership with colleagues at the NFL.

Lars brings over three decades of unparalleled experience in international sports development, coaching, and administration, consistently demonstrating skilled leadership and a commitment to strategic growth within the sport.

Throughout his distinguished career, Lars has made profound contributions to both tackle and flag football. He notably served an impressive 28-year tenure as Head Coach for Denmark's national teams, 25 years as an Athletic Director overseeing both disciplines of the game, and five years as CEO at the Danish American Football Federation. A globally recognised figure, Lars possesses an extensive international network, and his move to IFAF underscores his unwavering commitment to advancing the global reach and competitive integrity of the sport.
