Europe’s commitment to youth tackle football will be evident again this weekend when the third round of games in the 2026/27 IFAF U19 European Tackle Football Championships are hosted by Sweden, Poland, Germany and Austria.
Games played on Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20, will decide which three nations top their respective groups to advance to the tournament’s three-team round robin of games and compete for the gold medal in March, May and September of 2027.
Teams finishing second in the groups will contest fourth through sixth place overall next year, while the third-place teams in groups A and B will join two teams from Group C to decide who finishes seventh through tenth.
Defending U19 Euros champion and perennial powerhouse Austria (1-0) is in action on Sunday at the Footballzentrum Ravelin in Vienna (kickoff 1pm CET) knowing that a win against Czechia (0-1) will be enough to top Group A. Austria would advance having already beaten Spain 17-7 when the 2026/27 tournament kicked off in April.
A Czechia win would mean points differential between the three tied teams would be needed to determine a group winner with Spain currently holding the advantage having beaten Czechia by 29 points.

Italy (1-0) can clinch Group B by beating Sweden (0-1) in Solna (kickoff 2pm CET) though a loss will force tiebreakers to decide a three-way tie with Israel (1-1) then back in the picture.
