Argentina, Colombia and Brazil Lead The Pack In South America

Argentina tops the men’s group and host Colombia and top-ranked Brazil are unbeaten in the women’s tournament at the 2026 South American Regional Flag Football Championship in Colombia.

Friday and Saturday feature the group stages before knockout rounds on Sunday. Quarterfinals and semifinals will be followed by the Men’s Gold Medal Game at 6pm on June 28 and the Women’s Gold Medal Game at 7.15pm.

IFAF World Flag-bound Brazil opened the men’s games at Cancha de Fútbol Marte No. 1 in Medellín with a 22-13 victory over Chile but were beaten by a touchdown as Argentina gained revenge for the game that decided fifth place at the 2025 IFAF Americas with a 34-28 win. Colombia holds second place after the first day of action by virtue of points differential while Chile seeks a first win when the three-day tournament resumes on Saturday. Venezuela’s games were moved to Saturday due to the tragic earthquake in their home nation impacting travel to Colombia.
