IFAF
Membership
IFAF is fundamentally a Members organisation and our Members play a key role in driving forward the growth and development of all formats of the game on a global level.

With 3 levels of membership, IFAF has over 70 members with membership spanning all five continents – Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania.

Membership is open to one National Federation per country with that federation having to meet a clear set of criteria in order to be accepted by its peers at the IFAF Congress.

Applications for membership should be sent to the Managing Director.
IFAF Membership
Key Principles
The criteria for Membership of IFAF is outlined in the IFAF Statutes.

Full and Associate Membership status can only be conferred upon a federation by a vote of the current IFAF members at Congress. Allied Membership status can be conferred by the IFAF Leadership, allowing an emerging federation to work closely with IFAF to ensure effective development.

The core principles which should underpin the work of a federation are laid out below:

A Federation should be legally constituted with a clear set of Statutes which comply with local law and have democracy enshrined.
A Federation should operate as a not-for-profit organisation.
A Federation should cover all forms of American football. IFAF will not recognise more than one federation in any country for different disciplines.
A Federation should have a company bank account with transparency over its finances.
A Federation should be recognised by, or working towards recognition by, either or both their national government and their National Olympic Committee.
