IFAF reports
IFAF reports that Chilean American Football Athlete Costanza Aguero Silva has been sanctioned for 2 months for an admitted anti-doping rule violation involving the presence of Hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic. The Athlete was taking the specified substance to treat a valid medical condition but failed to apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption in advance of her test. She was found to have no-significant-fault for the anti-doping rule violation and was imposed a two-month period of ineligibility as a result.
IFAF takes this opportunity to remind all its athletes who are using medication for therapeutic reasons of the importance of applying for Therapeutic Use Exemptions in a timely manner.
