During the buildup to the 2025 IFAF Americans Flag Football Championships, IFAF has posed three questions to the head coaches of the men’s and women’s teams about to compete for continental glory.
Brazil women’s head coach Ingrid Camargo has been coaching the Women's National Team since 2018, at the IFAF World Championships in Panamá. She was at the helm when Brazil won their group at the 2021 World Championships in Israel and lost the bronze medal game to Austria, and at The World Games in Birmingham Alabama where Brazil, lost to the United States in the quarterfinals. Camargo was also in charge at the last IFAF Americas continental championships and at the world championships in Finland in 2024.
What are the goals for your team in this tournament ?
Our main goal is to get the spot for the next IFAF World Championships in Germany, but we are always playing to win.
What will be the strengths of your team and which players should we watch for?
We play with our heart and have very passionate players into the team, so we are definitely going to play with intensity and speed. You should watch for Ester, our quarterback and Justino, our safety.
What do you think of the group you have been drawn into (Brazil will face world champions USA, hosts Panama, and newcomers Jamaica and Colombia?
It's a good group. I hope we have great matches in a high level of flag football.
