Continental Bids

The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) is inviting bids to host the organization’s next round of IFAF Flag Football Continental Championships that will be held in 2027.

Played every two years since 2023, the men’s and women’s continental tournaments will again take place in Africa, the Americas, Asia-Oceania and Europe.

All eyes will be on 2027 following the 2026 IFAF Flag Football World Championships which will take place in Dusseldorf, Germany. The continentals will be among the last competitive IFAF tournaments before flag football makes its anticipated debut at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.

Interested parties should register with IFAF Managing Director Andy Fuller by emailing Andy.Fuller@AmericanFooball.Sport.

Egypt hosted the African continent’s first-ever IFAF tournament in June as Nigeria triumphed in both the men’s and women’s competition. Panama is poised to welcome America’s nations from September 12-14, including the Mexico and USA women’s teams who fought out a thrilling battle for the gold medal at The World Games in China in August. Paris will host the European continental championships from September 25-27 with 43 teams from 25 nations going for gold.

The reigning flag football champions of each continent are Nigeria (men and women, 2025), USA (men and women, 2023), Japan (women, 2023), Thailand (men, 2023), Great Britain (women, 2023) and Germany (men, 2023).
